Mary is raising up a Prayer Army

The Angelus way of prayer honours Mary as Queen of Intercessors. Their desire is to give birth to Jesus through prayer in the hearts of the poor, oppressed and the afflicted.

Through this form of prayer evangelisation they spiritually prepare the way for God’s gift of salvation Mary is raising up a Prayer Army under her title Blessed Virgin Mary of the Angelus.

Why does she need intercessors?

In the parable of the Darnel Matt 13:24-30 we are told how the Kingdom of Heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in the field. While everyone was asleep the enemy came and sowed darnel among the wheat and made off. The labourers were told to leave the darnel till harvest time. And then the reapers will collect the darnel, tie them into bundles to be burnt and gather the wheat into the barn.

Jesus then gives us an explanation of this parable in Matt 13:36-43. He tells us the sower of the good seed is the Son of Man, the field the world, the good seed the subjects of the Kingdom and the darnel the subjects of the Evil One.

The enemy who sowed the Darnel is the Devil. The harvest represents the end of the world and the reapers are the angels. He informs us that “the Son of Man is sending out His angels and they will gather out of His Kingdom all causes of falling and all who do evil.” (Matt 13: 41)

Blessed Virgin Mary of the Angelus is sending out the Angels promised at the end of time. The reapers are the intercessors that gather up the darnel and say “Yes” to the prayer promptings of the Holy Spirit. By tenderly embracing the poor who have fallen they gather them up and pray for God’s love, mercy, and healing.
