May the God of peace make you perfect and holy; and may your spirit, life and body be kept blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1Thess 5:23)
God desires everyone to be a whole person and He brings to us His healing love in a paternal and maternal way. As our Creator He wishes to restore us in his image and likeness. We remain incomplete without the nurturing of both genders and continue to seek affirmations of others to fill this empty void within ourselves.
We are three parts soul, body and spirit and God can heal us spiritually, emotionally and physically. Inner Healing is the healing of the inner man or woman; the mind, the emotions, the painful memories, the wounded spirit. It is the process of being set free from all bondage.
The Angelus way of prayer encourages us to invite Jesus and his Mother into the story of our lives for the healing of our life experiences. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit we can revisit those memories to receive his healing touch. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. (Heb: 13-8)
Healing is about forgiveness and reconciliation and inner healing is about healing the broken hearted and binding up their wounds (Psa. 147: 3).
We come to seek healing for all different reasons and are at different stages of our faith journey. It’s a gentle process of us choosing how deeply we invite him into those areas. But it does require us to co-operate with grace and to forgive those who have hurt us. This aspect is one of the challenges we have to face over and over again to become a healed and whole person.
We will also need to ask for a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit as it’s the Holy Spirit that teaches us how to pray. (Jn.14:10-16)
My scriptural prayer for you today is :
“This then is what I pray before the Father from whom every family, whether spiritual or natural takes its name. Out of his infinite glory, may he give you the power through his spirit
for your inner self to grow strong. So that Christ may live in your hearts through faith, and then planted in love and built on love. You will with all the saints (the baptised and those who have accepted Jesus into their lives) have strength to grasp the breadth and length , the height and the depth , until knowing the love of Christ, which is beyond all knowledge you may be filled with the utter fullness of God.
Glory be to him whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine; glory be to him from generation to generation in the Church and in Jesus Christ for ever and ever. Amen. (Eph.3:14-21)
